Yous guys are gonna love this.

No one loves like Philadelphia, so what better place to tell your love story than right at home? We've got everything- waterfront views, breathtaking architecture, and an amazing community of local artists, shops, and people that come together to turn concrete into magic.

Read on to explore some of my favorite engagement session locations in and around the best city on earth.

1. Old City

It's an icon for a reason. The Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia has some of the best architecture around, and offers such an eclectic variety of settings, from tree-lined cobblestone streets to the vibrant blue hues of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

2. Local Shops

Mostly Books on Bainbridge was the perfect location for Isabel + David, who are planning a literary themed wedding. They're one of many shops within walking distance in South Philadelphia that welcome local artists to collaborate. When planning your shoot, think about places in your community that you like to spend time for a truly photojournalistic experience.

3. Morris Arboretum

The University of Pennsylvania's stunning Morris Arboretum is for nature-lovers. Explore miles of paved trails framed by beautiful and interesting plant life, and a courtyard area that sets the mood for romantic, formal photos. This one is especially great all year round, due to the changing seasonal colors.

4. Waterworks

As many times as I've shot in this area, I feel like I could always create something new every time I visit. The huge pillars on the pavilion, the Art Museum steps, and views of the skyline overlooking the river all constantly offer a different experience, depending on the season and time of day. Catch me never getting tired of this timelessly romantic setting.

5. South Street

We get to enjoy diverse art all over Philadelphia- it's one of the best things about this city! But I had to highlight one of my favorite collections of murals. If you're planning your shoot in the South Street neighborhood, check out The Magic Gardens- a vibrant masterpiece by Isaiah Zagar, and ever-changing installments by various artists along Bainbridge and Fitzwater.

6. Rittenhouse Square

If Old City is the heart of Philadelphia, Rittenhouse Square is the face. Let's be honest, this is a fantastic location to shoot because it's drop dead gorgeous. The atmosphere of the park itself sets the mood for editorial style portraits, making even formal wedding attire feel appropriate. Plus, you'll be walkable to center city, so be sure to grab a night shot in front of city hall, because you deserve it.

7. Your Home

I love my home- my bed, especially. If you do too, consider this as an option for your engagement photos. True to my photojournalistic heart, I'll document a day in your life- whether you're cooking a meal, or having a dance party for two in the living room, feel free to be your natural selves.
