Nothing Fancy, Just LOVE
Maybe a huge wedding has been your dream since childhood, or maybe it definitely has not. For some couples, Covid brought the party to a screeching halt, but for others (I'm looking at you, my fellow introverts!) we're thriving in this new low-key status-quo. If you're more of a city-hall wedding type of guy, take some inspo from Alexandria + John because this day was an elopement dream-come-true!
The vision
"This may be a little silly, but I don’t have a date or an exact vision of what I want, just yet, but I did know I wanted a photographer and figured reaching out was my first task. We just want something simple and intimate"
Alexandria reached out to me at the very beginning stages of planning. We talked about her priorities for the day: to have fun with her new husband and enjoy the day with the people they love most.
If you follow my photography career, you already know that this is essentially my thesis, and I love nothing more than capturing the authentic moments that are born out of scenarios like this one.
We decided on 4 hours of coverage to capture the ceremony, followed by a relaxed portrait lap around Center City, and finally, an intimate celebration at Independence Beer Garden.

When planning an elopement (especially in mid-summer) it's a good idea to plan for an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and celebrate, even without the structure of a formal reception. After some portraits in Old City, we ended the day at Independence Beer Garden for some impromptu libations. Here's a list of other Philly Beer Gardens and outdoor spots perfect for a quick toast.
