Here Comes the Fun (doo doo doo)

Hopefully you sang that title in your head. It's appropriate because 1) It's a pun, and there's never a bad time for those. 2) It's musical- Cierra + Buddy are extremely talented musicians. 3) The sun broke through after a super well-timed thunderstorm in the middle of portrait hour. 4) This wedding was SO FUN.
In summary: I'm good at photography and bad at blogging. Let's get to it.

Getting Ready

Cierra and Buddy both prepped in their childhood homes. There were family photos, dogs, adorably uncoordinated children, and lots and lots of love.

Ceremony | Valleybrook Country Club

The ceremony was simple and heartfelt. They walked down the isle to live music played by a small horns ensemble and read vows off of composition paper. Some of my favorite moments of the day are capturing the emotions in the front row. Cierra and Buddy were surrounded by an exceptionally loving group of parents, step parents, and siblings.

Portrait Hour

There's nothing like an isolated thunderstorm to liven up a wedding day. On our way to the portrait location, it started to downpour. We were prepared, and made the best of the situation, which turned out to be just the right mix of temperature and humidity to create a beautiful foggy effect, and dreamy portrait lighting. Not to mention, this particular group of people were so easy to work with, it could have been a Covergirl commercial:

Easy, Breezy, Beautiful.

Reception | The Backyard

The best part about having your wedding in your own backyard, is you can do whatever you want. For Cierra and Buddy, this meant a full brass band performance (complete with mummer umbrellas), choreographed dances, and a surprise flashmob from their guests. They're both members of a wedding band, and are no strangers to the stage, so it's no surprise that their party brought an insane energy that I have never experienced before in my 10+ years in the wedding industry. I really hope i'm invited to the anniversary party.

Thank you,

To Cierra, Buddy, and all those who helped make this wedding so incredibly awesome. Cheers!
