A Storybook Romance in the Rose Garden

Adrienne + Jon are a classic love story. If you're thinking that they kind of look like Cinderella and Prince Charming, you're not far off. Their story begins with the most "rom-com" meeting imaginable, and their decision to keep their wedding traditional completely suited them. Blush florals, soft tulle + chiffon, and an aisle first-look were just some of the romantic elements of this day.

Getting Ready

Adrienne + Jon are the type of couple who have been "getting ready" since they first laid eyes on each other. Picture this: A police officer and a nurse (who both happen to be textbook GORGEOUS) meet in the emergency room, after he brings in a suspect in need of care. The rest is history.

I was lucky enough to meet Adrienne through her sister, who was a college roommate of mine. On a typical wedding day, where I have no "real life" connections with a bride, I will find myself getting emotionally invested-- it's just part of why I love wedding photography. But you throw a story like this at me, and you'll find me swooning all day. You'll see a common thread of emotional candids in this post, because this day in particular was so full of genuine love, and the Borelli's + Costa's aren't afraid to show it. Please enjoy, and you might want to grab a tissue.

Ceremony

Nestled between the Conservatory and the Rose Garden, the ceremony space at the Carriage House is intimate and peaceful, and set the tone for Adrienne + Jon's ceremony. Thinking back on the day, I remember the warmth and the calm energy that washed over the garden when Adrienne made her way down the aisle.

You can see the excitement in their eyes as they stood with each other through the sermon, communion, and sand-pouring ceremony.

Portrait Hour

Set amidst the magnificent grounds of a 19th century country estate, the Carriage House at Rockwood Park is a sight to behold. Add in the fact that their ceremony ended right at golden hour, and you've got an effortlessly dreamy setting for some seriously romantic portraits.

These moments are their first as man and wife, and if you can't tell, they're nailing it.

Reception

This image set is purely documentarian. This crowd made my job easy with a *slightly* rowdy garter/bouquet toss, heartfelt speeches, and of course, some perfectly un-choreographed dance moves.

Thank you
